THOMAS MALTHUS' THEORY

Population grows exponentially, while the amount of resources rises at a steady rate.
The resources can’t possibly keep up the demand of the ever growing
population and eventually there will come a breaking point.

The excessive need of resources to sustain all the population requires the overexploitation of the Earth. Furtehrmore, if we sum the individual pollution of each person we discover an enormous carbon footprint, which is the cause of the greenhouse effect.
These two issues have as a final consequence climate change and the lack of basic resources, problems that would threaten the planet's peace and the statu quo of society.

Overpopulation effects on economy

HIGHER UNEMPLOYEMENT
Overpopulation causes an increase in consumption, increasing consumption causes a decrease in saving, and decreasing savings results in decreased investment. Reduced investment reduces employment opportunity and creates unemployment.

TAX PRICES GO UP
As the cities absorb more people, the demand for housing, food, and water grows. Public services need to be expanded to meet rising demand, which leads to a higher tax burden being placed on working people.

OVERPOPULATION = AGED POPULATION = HIGHER BURDEN ON THE WORKING CLASS
The higher number of dependent population means that there is more need for more working class which produces the needs they consume and pays for their pensions.
